I'm female, not genderqueer, and definitely not male. I sort of aim to look androgynous, but I don't really want to be mistaken for genderqueer or male, but I also really don't want to look like a girl. When people misgender me I mostly find it amusing.

And I actually feel kind of strongly about these things.

Maybe I should start listing my pronouns as she/her/splunge.

@dynamic I had a good friend in high school that was the same. I never saw her in a dress or skirt, even at funerals and her wedding. She preferred jeans, t-shirts, no makeup, and short hair, so people who didn't know her probably thought she was trying to be manly.

@lwriemen @dynamic See that's the look that I actually find attractive, both socially and romantically. Completely practical clothing that won't hinder movement, physical labor, and exploration of one's environment.

(Makeup and hair aren't directly connected to that, but obviously tend to correlate.)

I really dislike that it's discouraged by big segments of our culture, not just for personal reasons but for liberation reasons...
