Look. I don't want to be a naysayer, but I keep hearing about how WFH is the future and how awful orgs that don't allow it are the spawns of Satan, but the fact is that many existing orgs will _never_ allow it. 1/6

Those orgs will not magically start caring about their employees or your work environment. They put up with WFH for a while, but they're now reasserting their authority through control. 2/6

So, if you want a better WFH world, the way to do it is to found your own company! It's not all that hard (in high-GDP countries, at least, or in places like India that have a strong tech-savvy community). 3/6

@allenholub A nice sentiment, but some of us don't have the ability to attract and sell to customers. Another factor, in the USA, is healthcare; you'll pay at least double for equivalent coverage.

I've been self-employed for decades. I do understand the issues. I would never suggest launching a company if you didn't have at least 6 months (or maybe even a year) of buffer saved up. I get nervous when my reserves drop below 6 months.
