@Gargron and all the top #Mastdodon instances need to start preparing for the idea that Twitter itself is on a relative fast route to bankruptcy. 💣
Need Mid-term plans for how the top instances can scale dramatically on hardware, stat. And streamlined onboarding of new users choosing instances to spread the user load.
As a community NOW we need to encourage everyone who is thinking about it to start their own instance. This is coming.

If there aren't enough Mastodon servers to meet the demand, that's not a fault of the server admins, Mastodon, or the Mastodon community. Someone else needs to step up.

Since you can just rent a hosted Mastodon server https://masto.host/ the amount of servers should just scale with the demand.
