The goal of every software project should be to no longer be maintained. Maintenance means repairs are needed or requirements haven't been realized. i.e., the project isn't complete.

and as soon as it is "finished", it's called "obsolet" as there is no maintenance any more......
@UffTaTa Yes. I keep seeing "unmaintained" as a reason for not choosing FOSS software, and it is an insufficient reason.
