After reading some on the EU mandate to provide a USB-C charging port, I wonder how many tech companies are only going to use it for charging and still provide other ports.

I also think that in light of USB-C issues, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB-C#Co , there needs to be additional wording to enforce compatibility. A new version of the standard, or a different standard. A lack of compatibility enforcement allows vendors to basically defeat the intent of the EU ruling, and leaves consumers at risk.
