On the one hand, the linux copyright holders (Torvalds et al, S/w Conservatory or whoever holds rights) has courtroom phobia. They are deadbeats when it comes to protecting legal interests of the FOSS community. On the other hand, they were apparently motivated to go after Cisco for the same thing (hence why #openwrt exists).

@kzimmermann Clarification: it’s Linux Foundation who holds the copyright. And it is them who tends to ignore reports of linux licensing violations.

@koherecoWatchdog @kzimmermann well...Linux Foundation is pretty much owned by big tech (with a strong Microsoft influence). TechRights has good articles detailing this. However, they aren't the only ones able to sue over FOSS infringements.
