Coding is like digging holes and then backfilling them. The real fun in software development lies in analysis and design. i.e., figuring out how to solve a problem. The problem is that many software devs mistakenly conflate the physical task with the logical task. This logical-physical confusion has been holding software advancement back for many decades. It's causing mountains of technical debt and decreasing quality. It makes companies hire for the wrong kind of knowledge.
