@lightweight Interesting to see the exposure, but there's a lot of logical fallacies with the conclusions. The Patent Scam guy is obviously procapitalism and fails to examine much in depth. For example, his perception of the patent system as lacking any merit causes him to not explore how patent clerks might be overworked and underpaid, which would be cause for not investigating filings too deep. His view of source code as patentable is wrong.

@lwriemen Thanks :) - I hadn't got that far when I posted. Yeah, I tend to agree with you - I wrote this site: softwarepatents.org.nz I personally don't think it's a question of patent clerks' working conditions. I think it's inherent to a patent system. The people judging applications will never be skilled enough to know what would be obvious to "someone skilled in the art". And the longer their patent clerks rather than practitioners, the worse they get. The system is inherently broken.
