In the UK, unless you're going to Russell Group university, you are best off with Level 5 apprenticeship.

The most under-criticised aspect of Blairism and Third Wayism is the whole "go to college/uni or you are loser (probably with a bad mother)" signalling.

The left is also guilty of it. How often did Bernie talk about union apprenticeships compared to free college/uni?

If you want to win non-college/uni educated voters, don't signal that we are losers or less worthy. Or have worse mothers!

@LeoSammallahti I believe I remember Bernie praising Germany's system of two paths post high school and talking about apprenticeships. Might have been in his book.

Yes, there are great policies in this regard supported by left wing candidates and parties.

Labour also had a great plan for 320,000 apprenticeships as part of the Green New Deal.

But I doubt 1% of voters knew about it. Abolishing tuition fees was the best known policy Labour had according to surveys.

They are never talked about.
