How to define productivity in the corporate world?

Picture 100 people in an engineering facility, gathered in the cafeteria, watching a remote feed of various C-level presenters, showing slides about the pieces they manage, for 4 hours.

None of the presentations concern anything the watchers can affect, unless they wanted to perform a mass walkout. ;-)
