But, hey, even if not -- votes were cast, the people were heard, results respected... and the world keeps turning.

I'd like to point out that the majority of people (that voted, which still wasn't that many people) voted for parties that didn't win, despite the party that did win getting a large majority of seats.
So the majority of us likely are not happy about the election.
But, I'm glad that you are happy since you have a good point - some people's votes counting is better than none
