PSA:

The House of Lunduke BBS (bbs.lunduke.com) is temporarily offline for a migration to a new server. Finally getting ready to have the official dial-up line.

When done, the BBS will have 20 telnet nodes... and one 56k traditional dial-up modem.

ETA: Weekend.

@lunduke
Neat! I wonder if our VoiP phone is good enough for dialup...

@ajroach42 @lunduke The general rule with modems over VoIP, AFAIK, boils down to:

* Your provider must allow G.711 as the codec (µ-law for American/Japanese systems, A-law for European-derived systems), as that is what can properly encapsulate dial-up signals
* You can't have much jitter or dropped packets at all, basically you have to use Quality of Service to put VoIP traffic at maximum priority, and leave some of your bandwidth unused at all times to ensure that VoIP has something to use without issues like bufferbloat
