their "no load times" marketing translated into actual engineering is soldering ssd chips to the board and using a custom controller chip to maximize read throughput.

also the cpu is x86-64, was kind of expecting ARM64.

@dthompson why arm? It would take a lot of effort to match the actual gaming performance of x86_64 with arm from what I know.

@louispearson I dunno I just see a lot of new devices moving away from x86 so I thought maybe the new playstation would be part of the trend.

@dthompson if I remember correctly arm is a better low power solution. Battery powered devices can get a lot more time from an arm based processor. It's not as much of a concern for wall powered devices
