This has always been very silly to me, because I constantly create, and either something is just for me, or it's something for others. If it's the latter, the moment others see it, it's no longer mine. It doesn't belong to me.
this is a point of view that is hammered into people as most important, for a whole host of reasons.
we now live in an age where this concept of ownership is being eroded from multiple fronts. LLMs completely destroy the idea of intellectual property (which should never have existed in the first place)
same for copyright (which only existed insofar as the industrial production of created works was a privilege only afforded to the few that could afford the expense)
I understand their points of view, it does not change the fact that those with the most money in this society have finally gotten exactly what they've wanted: Creativity without the labor.
if we are to get through this insanity, we all have to come to grips with ourselves and the relationship to capital, which has told us point blank that "our capital is our labor."
whatever happens as a result of that, is what happens, but it is being forced upon us.
reform? or revolution? I understand both, and am okay with both.
