The Pop ARM64 build server has been upgraded to use a 128 core Ampere Altra and it now beats the dual Epyc 7551 x86 build server on most builds.

@soller Ooh, if you guys made a big investment into build systems for this architecture, is it reasonable to suspect that System76 may have some new ARM64 devices in their pipeline? Or am I perhaps just reading into this too much...

@leimon @soller I believe that this only has to do with the host build machine, not the target builds.

@soller @leimon Ah, thank you for the correction.

I had assumed that the build server's processor architecture usually is not thought of as much, since the project can be cross-compiled for other architectures.

On another subject, I really do need to find time to resume testing Redox OS on bare-metal hardware, and report my findings. Other than USB still not being implemented, I wonder what I can get working on my collection (ranging from relics such as the ThinkPad T22, to my daily drivers Asus Z77 Pro Gamer and my IdeaPad 300-15ISK, and more in between).
