I finished the scarf this weekend! I'm really pleased with how it turned out, to the point that I think I want to make another for myself (this one is a gift).

@danyork Thank you! I'm particularly pleased with it.

@kyle I can only imagine the amount of work you put into it and whoever this person may be that gets this beautiful present, I think that they will be very happy about your present.

@elshid Thank you so much! One of the most rewarding things about this hobby is having something tangible and long-lasting to show for the effort. Being able to share it with someone else as a gift makes it even better.

@kyle This came out really nice! I like your pattern choice at the edges to center and highlight the diamonds.

@JoanESheldon Thank you! It makes me want to experiment with the same pattern but different colored linen warps with black weft, and colored warp and weft.

@kyle this is beautiful! Can I ask what loom it was woven on? I'm hesitantly looking to buy one of my own.

@Crybaby Thank you! I wove it on a four harness floor loom without any branding on it that I got for free from Craigslist and was told it was from the 1950s. This is a wide and reinforced floor loom made to handle rugs.

But you wouldn't need anything this elaborate to make a twill scarf like that. A rigid heddle loom with three heddles could do it. Floor looms are fun though!

@Crybaby If you have a resource like Craigslist where you are, I do strongly recommend looking there. Floor looms are like upright pianos in that used ones are either really expensive, or surprisingly cheap (or free!), because they take up space and people sometimes inherit them and just want to get rid of them. You often will also get a whole lot of accessories (shuttles, yarn, bobbins) with it.

@kyle that's such a good idea. Thank you. I'd never have thought to look on Craigslist.
