I hate it when people say "you didn't have to do that." Like, I spent many hours trying to think of something to do that was nice but not too extra, and being told I didn't have to makes me paranoid that I didn't quite nail that balance.
@yaelwrites Some folks have difficulty figuring out how to accept generosity. I imagine it is more that than a flaw in your generosity.

@yaelwrites @kyle I have actually had to learn to accept gratitude, and my grade is probably a C-. I *am* grateful, but also acutely embarrassed. Oh, so complicated.
@yaelwrites @sbourne I've felt that way in the past too. These days I just try my best to accept generosity when it comes my way, and use it as motivation/inspiration to up my own generosity game.
