My #FOSS roots must run deep, because I just bought a corded jigsaw to avoid the vendor lock-in from the incompatible lithium ion battery systems in modern power tools.
@kyle you know it’s capitalist bullshit because at least 5 of the brands are made in the same factories in Taiwan by the same company.

@kyle good on you :) - it's not a hill I've decided to die on, although I totally agree with your inclination. I've been planning to do an "aftermarket" cell replacement in my tools (with proprietary battery systems, no doubt patented) when theirs inevitably deteriorate.
