#wire has made it into F-Droid finally. Might be a worthy competitor to Signal (no f-droid, thanks m0xie) and Telegram (FOSS version maintained by separate group long after the release; questionable encryption and not e2ee by default).

oh wow, firefox developer tools has a tool to simulate colour vision deficiency and contrast loss! https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Accessibility_inspector/Simulation
Very handy!
@praveen @ehashman yeah, just have to add /dev/sdb, /dev/sdb1, /dev/mmcblk0p1, etc, etc, and remember annoying incantations to mount when needed (remember to use lsblk to find which applies, comparing output before and after insertion, as dmesg is now not user applicable), and typing this all out makes me wonder how it's been 20 years and this all still sucks so much...
@gael concerning, too, is how the article hand-waves away similar privacy intrusions in the home with:
"But those devices are in your home, not always carried with you everywhere you go, and generally don’t have your most private information stored on them, like your phone does."
Somehow privacy in the home is less important?
I think nobody wants this alway-on smartphone camera, Qualcomm! 😡
@kyle "unique". Happy accidents can make something new and different. Or think of it as evolution of tartans where the genetic copy has subtle differences
@dthompson does it help if the elf was never alive and was a physical manifestation of a manufactured "tradition" that normalized in-home surveillance where the actor was protected from any direct interaction?
@martijnbraam can you touch type on the pinephone keyboard? Looks a lot like the old Psion keyboard which was surprisingly usable. That would be worth the chonk.
