@reaton yes, having big instances is a good thing.
There's fear of too much power and control if there are primarily a few big instances (as has happened with email), but without some reasonable defaults for new users, far more people will just abandon the platform and go elsewhere.
A good country and society doesn't mean enforcing only many small villages, but allowing some cities to grow as well.
