Cell phone nonsense
Ugh... T-mobile's network update may not be setting well with my phone. The phone is supposed to be compatible with the recent changes, but I'm not running T-Mobile's garbage, and I have LineageOS on it. My phone was unsupported for a bit, but I've been getting notifications that updates are available. I guess I'll have to try that to see if it helps, but I'm somewhat doubtful.
So tempted to just get rid of this thing and get a land line. I really don't use it that much.

Or to put it another way, I don't rely on it for anything that a landline couldn't suffice for. However, I might upset certain other people in my life who expect me to always be available through the phone 24/7 no matter where I am.
Speaking as somebody who lived a full rich life before cell phones, it feels ridiculous. :/

@cstanhope an option is to use jmp.chat and then get access to SMS/MMS/voice on all of your devices. That doesn't help with expectations around constant connectivity, but at least untethers you from a particular mobile provider.

Cell phone nonsense
@keverets Thanks for the suggestion. Even if I don't completely ditch the cell phone in the near future, I have been thinking about reducing my dependence on them as you say.
