Elon Musk gets a lot of hate, and I get it, he's not a *nice person*. But look, this guy broke the oil trust. If it weren't for him we'd still be sitting in our hands chanting "no realistic alternative" while our infrastructure slowly cooks us to death.

@cjd Musk didn't do it singlehandedly, and Tesla existed before he added his funding and joined. Whether it could have risen to prominence without him is debatable (and he did put his fortune on the line to prop it up on a couple of occasions).

That said, Tesla is much more than the dancing monkey pretending to be its core engineer and visionary.

My hope is that others spring up to continue to transform the industry in a less customer hostile way
