I just finished watching a 3 and a half hour review of Doom (1993) and it made me want to read Masters of Doom (2003) and made me wish that I, too, had a game designer buddy whose vibe was on the same frequency that allowed me to create a genre defining video game at the age of 23. alas the closest thing I ever had to that was creating a pyweek jam entry in 2011, when I was 20, with a guy that lived on the same street in the same small town that went to the same college and attended some of the same computer science classes as I did. that was cool. I never did manage to create a game that another human could actually play after that.
the problem with watching Tim Roger's videos is that his penchant for pontification infects you with an unstoppable urge to write run-on sentences.
