Getting tired of every "guix package -u" rebuilding icecat. Is there a way to tell it to use the prepackaged one and just grab whatever deps that needs?
This seems like a pretty big waste of CPU cycles & power.
Hi @keverets Indeed behavior is not very friendly. One way to avoid it is to use ‘--commit=someDaysOldGuixRevisionHere’ for guix pull to pull an older version of Guix in which substitutes are ready or use ‘--do-not-upgrade[=regexp …]’† flag for ‘guix upgrade’ to omit Icecat.
