Question for anyone; feel free to boost:
My parents, who are both smart people but not software engineers or in telecom, say they're looking at the "Magic Jack" thing, which is clearly some sort of consumer-grade VoIP service for landline replacement.
I dunno if I trust that brand; I'd like to recommend an equally usable solution to them that will be safer on data privacy & portability: does anyone have firsthand experience with a good one?
I used BYOD ATAs back in the day, but years ago.
@johns I feel the same way about AT&T, though.
