Are you a web developer looking for work? We got a project for you! We need a freedom minded person who can work with us to develop a new ecommerce site for ThinkPenguin. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Drupal and free software tools. We want to retain control over as much of the site as possible and not deal with the BS SaAS that is WordPress and similar solutions. Nor platforms based on Java or Adobe. Just say no to JavaScript overload and ties to social media & Google.

I really like purism's librem social. It was my introduction to mastodon anf the fediverse as a whole. So far, I have had no reason to leave.

In case gnome-control-center (the settings app) instantly crashes when being started, try:
gsettings reset org.gnome.Settings last-panel

I am on a server with rules that I like.
1. Don't post anything illegal.
2. Don't harass others.
Simple, easy to enforce. The have also set it so that there is no server tab so that you only see posts from people that you follow. That way it is very easy to self moderate.
If I wanted server admins to tell me what I can and can't see or say, I would join twitter.

It seems to me that the people telling other people who they can and can't listen to are the ones being the bullies.

If you block them for yourself, why would you care if other people decide to not block them. To me, personal level blocks are the way to go. If you don't want to see what someone posts, you shouldn't have to, but at the same time, it really shouldn't be any of your business if someone else wants to view said posts.

I took a semi-involuntary break from mastodon last week.
My phone died and I do not check mastodon any other way.
For just over a week, I had no phone, no social media and since the hotspot on my phone is my home internet at the moment, no home internet.
It was a pretty relaxing week.

When my Librem 5 finally comes, maybe it will be even better, but I got tired of waiting and got a mid tier Pinephone. Flashed Mobian on it right away. It is quite good, easily the best phone I've ever had and fully (maybe with a bluetooth keyboard) a laptop replacement. This is largely thanks to Phosh, but the Pinephone is dutifully supportive if occasionally sluggish
