I am not sure the PPP is the way to go. Sound quality, in my experience was significantly worse than the OG Pinephone.
@jlcrawf i remember a time when this was the case on the pinephone, for me it came down to setting the call volume in biktor's modem firmware lower or something, i don't remember. it ended up being resolved eventually, and i only call very occasionally. it might be worth it, i'll decide tomorrow when i have time to think about it. the screen still functions just fine on my pinephone so it's not pressing
@jlcrawf regardless of what i do, i'm going to order a replacement screen for the pinephone so i have it as a backup. i'm also going to order a replacement charging circuit for my old pinephone keyboard case that i fried a while back now that replacement parts are available for it. time for another pine64 shopping run!
@jlcrawf my pinephone's main speaker no longer works on a hardware level according to the factory test image (and hasn't for a while), and i rarely make calls so the earpiece speaker quality isn't a big concern either. i know there are other software problems with a ppp like battery life, but i often have the pinephone plugged into the keyboard case or nexdock so that too isn't a major concern. the biggest problem with my pinephone right now is the speed
