It is endorsed by the Free Software Foundation.
I am not a fan of it though.. I had it on a computer and wanted to install python for a specific app. It blocked the install of python because it can be used yo install non-free software. It can also be used to install free software which is what I was doing. IMO, Trisquel does not respect my freedom to install software of my choosing on my pc.
