Speaking of Apple... although this might be a change in subject... at some point my iphone will die and I'll need to decide what phone to have. Granted, I've done a lot of research into just getting a plane jane flip phone but those don't really seem to exist anymore; even they are data driven.

Any thoughts on a cell phone a person can control rather than the other way around?

I have ordered a librem 5. If you need a phone next week, this will not be the phone for you. I preordered mine a couple of years ago. That said, they have started shipping and I expect them to get caught up on back orders by July-August. (This is my own personal guess not related to anything they have posted.)
My phone is dying and will not last that long, so I have ordered a pinephone that I hope will get me by till then.
