I used to talk with my grandfather (~80) regularly, but after trump lost the popular election a second time, he has refused to say anything other than lamentations about the state of the world. He’s still big mad his grandkids voted for Biden. Any advice?
There is no subject he cannot make political.
I say, “Remember this fond memory?” He responds about then being a “sane” time.
I say, “All your grandkids want to see you.” He says, “Too many liberals.”
I say, “Thanks for xyz growing up.” He says, “Why don’t you like trump?”
