Nice minimalistic packaging. So small and light that when I picked it up at the post office I thought they forgot to pack the laptop inside 😆

@cybette What kind of propreitary drivers are needed for the #thinkpad laptop to run #GNU /#Linux smoothly?

@pavi "Thinkpad" is too broad - there are many different hardware configurations. E.g. the X1 Carbon that I have uses the open Intel graphics drivers, but X1 Extreme requires the proprietary Nvidia drivers (afaik). Currently I'm having some audio issues and trying to figure out what's the problem, which I didn't have with a previous gen of X1 Carbon.

@cybette @pavi they know lots use em for linux ud think they would work harder to make the hardware work out the box

@jameshjacksonjr @pavi

I've used many ThinkPad models with various Linux distros and most work out of the box. They are not perfect but a lot better than most brands.

@cybette @pavi nice glad they work well out the box for most distros plus they are built like tanks

@jameshjacksonjr @cybette My major issue is the iwl intel wireless, they are propreitary drivers. Yes they work without any hassle if you install them seperately if you are on a "free" software distro.
