@cybette and also my server I was on the person was going to shut it down so this new home works out for me hey tell me what u think of this librem.one puri.sm/posts/how-purism-works puri.sm/posts/opt-in-no-ads-an and that last one specially most aren't sure how they feel about the no timelines but read all 3 in that order and tell me what u think!!

@jameshjacksonjr I didn't have time to read through things in detail until now. I don't always check the local/federated timelines but I like the option of having them and checking them occasionally. By disabling them completely, isn't Purism dictating what we *shouldn't* see? How is that giving us the control over content?

@cybette so I'm only seeing content from people I follow vs a huge vast amount of content I didn't ask to have there

@jameshjacksonjr I don't know what clients you use, but I'm also only seeing content from people I follow. the other timelines are separate and I only see them if I *choose* to. However they are available, not completely removed which feels like censorship.

@cybette no matter what client u use its this way purism is doing it at the server level so u can't even log into another mastodon client and get timlines

@jameshjacksonjr so they decided for you what you cannot see, instead of it being your choice?

how is that better? I don't get it 🤔

@cybette it's not better for some but some like the more simplicity of it this way

@jameshjacksonjr

yeah perhaps. well like I always say it's good to have options and this librem one option isn't for me :)
