Radio nerditry: A while back, I picked up a Qodosen SR-286 radio, an unreasonably high performance ultracompact portable receiver built around a car radio chipset. It covers LW/MW/SW/FM (no SSB, sadly), and absolutely blows every other portable radio I've ever used out of the water, especially on FM. User interface is a bit inscrutable; the manual is definitely required reading.

They finally have a production version, relabeled DX-286, available via Amazon. Recommended if this is your thing.

@mattblaze Interesting to read your post about the Qodosen radio. It is new to me. I have the Sangean ATS-909X2, so no direct need for it. But I will keep an eye if it will be locally available in Sweden.
