Rant, business
Help me make this right in my mind. I was told that since we would be light on orders, that resources would be allocated to a different line. Why does a business have to refer to people as resources?

@archer72 I remember a time when there was a Personnel department where I worked. Then it became HR, Human Resources. Those weren't resources for us humans (ergonomic chairs and desks, good lighting, good PPE, etc), the "resources" were US!
This tells you a lot I think.

@perloid @archer72 Mmm hmmm we, at my job, also said personell department (but in Swedish) before the English term Human resources became standard. I'm trying to recall, how much it was difference over time or between org/companies if PD/HR had its focus on supporting the staff or supporting the management. I wonder if it has become more of "IR"; public relations but on the internal side.

@hehemrin @perloid @archer72 Add "consumer" and "user" to that list.
