Independent developers, freelancers, etc: How do you manage your CV and resume?
I've got an overly-detailed CV that contains all the technologies that I've used, and all artifacts that I've produced. Furthermore, I list my numerous assignments, large projects that I've been involved with.
Each detail is relevant for various customers, but most of the details are not relevant to most.
I am in need for a convenient way to filter, or make filterable, my cv into a short resume.
To give background. Recruiters, purchasing and sometimes hiring managers are terrible. They will search for specific frameworks or they will search for general techniques. Phrase this wrong in the CV, and you might be filtered out before even getting a call.
More background:
I've worked with so many technologies that I have a really hard time listing them all. Most are quite similar to each other, some are not. Recruiters have no idea.
@n I also keep a super-CV for myself. It is a source for CV for job applications, but can of course be a record also for my own memory over my life. I agree it is most likely not relevant to attach in an application. I have no better idea than to copy/paste entries from it to each specific application. And like you wrote, maybe alter words depending on words used for the moment or the industry, or language, that are relevant in each situation. And to accept applications takes time.

"And to accept applications takes time"
I suppose this is what I refuse to accept. :-)
