What is your take on encryption on Linux laptop/desktop/mobile?
Full disc encryption, home encryption, file/container encryption, no encryption?

@hehemrin I don't think there is any reason for any laptop or desktop to not use full disk encryption. For desktops I'm perfectly comfortable with automatic unlocking of the encrypted partition based on the measured secure boot state (if you're going to do this with laptops at least set a companion pin).

Servers are a special case that have unique requirements but my general answer matches the desktop one if it's feasible. There are SO many asterisks on servers though.

@hehemrin Mobile devices are also a no brainer. iPhones and Androids both natively support transparent encryption that is almost entirely invisible to users. Just do it ✔️

@hehemrin Full encryption with boot partition on a USB key and a knife hidden in your trousers and 0% proprietary firmwares and userland 100% Free software and with the partner who stays with you asleep while you sleep, at turns
