@reality2cast @katherined @dsearls @jzb And I went down the Joomla trail instead... also free and open source! Several years ago, I needed something new for an NGO. At that time, Wordpress felt a bit too much blog-centered for that purpose. Drupal, I used that at work, but only as low-level admin and surely many specifics so from that experience Drupal did not feel a good choice (but Drupal core may very well have been a good choice). I decided Joomla, community build, was best choice for me.1/2

It also meant I moved my personal site to Joomla. And yes, it feels good to have a personal place on internet where I am fully in charge (ok, I do not host myself, and of course I need to buy the domain and so)! hemrin.com :-)

I agree! Esp when they are open source.
Re WordPress, its development and how much it is used, it is an amazing success!
Re Drupal, I am still curious how it is to design and use as a superuser, backend login and no rules set by others... When using it at a big company, with a lot of corporate rules, limited front end login, which makes sense of course, but it gives an incomplete experience how I could use it if I design and set the web site rules.
@hehemrin @reality2cast @dsearls @jzb I haven’t touched Joomla in almost 20 years, but these days my feeling is that we should use whatever well-maintained tools get the job done most comfortably.
