@micahilbery@coffeechat.lol First of all: I have not tried myself or involved in any way, but tempted to get one. I think you can get one in US, heard someone in Canada as I recall, but more complex, maybe via crowdfunding site. When purchase, Volla OS or Ubuntu touch as installed OS. If Volla OS, it has a feature for multiboot where user can add Ubuntu touch in addition. But also Sailfish OS. As I've read, also Droidan is in progress. I wonder if maybe also Manjaro is ongoing. Plus depend on model. 1/2

@micahilbery@coffeechat.lol Furthermore, there is a community around it, so maybe there are more work in progress, or in general from various Linux projects side. Volla has some degree of repairability. But if you your desire is Gnome, it might be complicated... Anyway, to me, Volla is one promising Linux phone to keep an eye on. 2/2

@micahilbery@coffeechat.lol I don't know all about Linux, desktops and so on... but I quickly read the latest blog post for Droidan, that writes about based on Dabian Bookworm with Gnome 43 etc. And Droidan has a list of officially supported phones, among them Volla 22. I currently use a Samsung S9 that I bought refurbished half a year ago and flashed it with /e/OS. I'm satisfied. But I notice also S9 is officially Droidan supported. Can Droidan be something for you? I would like to try it on a spare phone.
