Now I've updated to the latest 8.1 release of digiKam. I will look more into my settings related to new features compared to 7.9 (I never upgraded to 8.0), and generally learn more about the new features. I am so impressed of this free and open software! digikam.org/

@hehemrin Ooh, I didn't know about this application. I've wanted a free software photo management/manipulation prog but didn't find one before. Thanks!

@a_cubed You're welcome! I use if firstly for its catalog management but also tested their photo editing, still a newbie on that (I also try RawTherapee for that, and my old but easy to use non-free Corel AfterShot Pro). I migrated in Oct last year my catalog from Photoshop Elements via Lightroom to digiKam and I don't regret it. Their e-mail list support is also good, the developers are indeed very active in support (and the e-mail archive is open for browse and search).
