I am about to start my migration journey from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4 CMS for web sites. What are your best advices of possibilities and respectively actions that needs attention to make the migration smooth? #Joomla #CMS #FOSS #OpenSource
@mrlionheart Thanks, noted.
@mrlionheart Will it be an easy job to get Cassiopeia to look decently when migrating from Protostar? Not perfect, but so it works and understandable for the visitor. (If we forget polishing with custom css and other details for the moment)
@hehemrin Sure, a lot can be done if you feel a bit at home in Joomla and CSS. Great tips can be found here : https://magazine.joomla.org/all-issues/february-2022/joomla-4-cassiopeia-template-a-bunch-of-tips-tricks
And if you have a question, just ask 😁
@hehemrin Remove as much extensions as possible, turn debug on before the upgrade to spot issues that still exist. When succesful rebuild the layout with core Joomla and a good template. (cassiopeia /yootheme pro) for example. J4 with php 8.1 will fly on decent hosting out of the box without caching 😁👍
Good luck
