@e33io@mas.to They will take the MATE version to start. Which I consider is a good choice considering both its an older machine and to be familiar for a Windows-user. I hope they will not come across problematic hw incompatibilities, but chances are good it works as it is a "mature" machine. 🙂

Yes, I agree. But for an old Windows user, MATE is probably better than Xfce. Plus my friend knows MATE better.

@hehemrin @e33io XFCE is even more lightweight for older systems, but MATE is good too.
