Preparing my refurbished ThinkPad T460p to be used more and more in favor over my macMini. Linux Mint Cinnamon is in place, more sw ongoing. I have Linux on two older machines as well, but this one should be good enough as daily driver incl photo management. I like #LinuxMint! #Linux #opensource
@zaivala Bigger screen is nice. But I will often dock to an external screen. I think its 32 Gb Ram will be nice for photo editing (my mac has 8 as well as my best older Mint-laptop). My mac is also too old now for latest macOS, while the T460p of about same age can upgrade to latest Mint for several years to come!
@hehemrin In have 26" and 32" non-smart TVs for external video. They are currently attached to my two M700 Tinys. I don't have anything with 32MB RAM but everything but the i3 has 16 and the i3 has 12.
@zaivala Do you use any as a server or like normal computers?
@hehemrin To this point, I do not understand the need or use for a server. I look forward to exploring this after I get a house of my own , which I hope is soon. I do have a Pi4 around here... If I had unlimited energy money I could use my HP Z800 (dual quad-core xeons, 24 GB RAM).
@zaivala I have also not built a server, but would like to test but likely not in the near future. It could maybe be as a webserver, Nextcloud, Jellyfin.
@hehemrin I have a T540p and a T560, in addition to two ThinkCentre M700 Minis (one with i3 and the other with i7)
