@FiveEyeTea I read the article; so it's an ID system, but what exactly does that mean? Tied to hardware, or something software-level like HTTP?
@golemwire As far as I'm aware, these digital ID systems will be an effective replacement for existing state ID systems. This is why we need to also resist federal level ID systems like REAL ID. If a digital ID system is rolled out, everything -- both online and offline -- will be tied to a centralized ID in a database, with governments tying everything to a social credit system. This would give them total control over every citizen and freedom will be irreparably dead.
