Two weeks into my SmashBOX journey... just realized yesterday I can do buffered turnaround up-tilts and down-tilts with the default tilt buttons... also figuring out what buttons I need and don't need. I think I'm good to settle on a layout!
@golemwire I've used fight sticks to play traditional fighting games for a while now but not having a stick is still a lot to get used to for sure. There are a large number of complicated button patterns to learn, for a wide variety of circumstances. I think much more than if I were using this to play a traditional fighting game. BUT, the feeling of having total control over inputs is worth all the trouble to me. Also, for analog controllers there are no good ones that aren't very expensive, and hard to get, AND the sticks wear out in 6-12 months anyway. I still suck with the SmashBox and will for a while but I can already tell I made the right choice.
