I think putting content warnings on all of your images, no matter how mundane, is a dickish thing to do, and I'm kinda tired of it. :/

@RL_Dane In the Preferences, you can set "Always show media" and "Always expand posts marked with content warnings", if you don't mind seeing everything and find it a chore to be constantly clicking.

I can see both sides to it, which is why I'm glad Mastodon has the option for both.

That obliterates the entire point of that feature. The point is that some people like to post things I *don't* want to see, and they are decent enough to put a CW on that picture.

Those who put a CW on *everything* make the feature useless.

It's so infuriating.

It's like if someone put a CW on EVERY text post and set the CW text to "Tee hee hee! Click to see what I wrote!"

You'd call that person an asshole in a New York minute. But somehow it's acceptable to play "Peek-a-Boo!" with image CWs.

It's not.
