And the free speech instances are called Nazi and blocked by left-wing ones so they can't federate. They even hardcoded the Tusky so those Nazi Christians on Gab can't use it. And they are claiming to be the good and tolerant ones. I was neither left nor right, but now I detest the leftist insanity.

I'm not planning to call on extermination of a group of people or anything criminal. But the Fediverse is a predominantly left-wing where they ban you for not believing Trump is a white supremacist or other left-wing insanity. The Big-Tech said you can go elsewhere if you don't like it, then when people finally did they took down their competition, Parler. The Fediverse server admins are saying if you don't like it you can setup your own instance, like everyone has the skills.

The Fediverse is a predominantly left-wing network where most instance owners/admins will ban you if they don't like your political views. Mastodon was created by someone who advertised his platform as Twitter without Nazis, because in his view Twitter was full of Nazis. You have to realize that if you want mass adoption on the Fediverse you can't expect everyone to setup their own instances if they don't want to be censored.

The reason people leave Facebook and Twitter is to escape censorship. Nobody wants to leave those platforms just to be called Nazis and facists by Mastodonians and get banned even quicker. They even call Pleroma Nazi software lmao.

It's good to know about that Webuzo script, it might be a good start if it makes the install easier. I saw Digital Ocean also has a script to make Mastodon installation easier.

I would like a step by step tutorial on how to install a Friendica or Hubzilla node. I found something on YouTube about Friendica but looks like they're not using the easier way. I'm not sure If I need a SMTP email provider to install that software.

Western Europe has the same problem, but not quite as bad as USA. Eastern Europe where I'm from is a lot more homogenous, so racial tensions like in USA are unlikely. Honesty, Mastodon currently feels better without all the political debates these days. Some people don't like the fact that Purism's instance doesn't allow you too see the public feed, but I actually prefer it. Interacting only with the people and content I'm interested is nice.

The only good part is people now are finally getting concerned about big-tech and they're looking for alternatives. I think some are missing the point that Silicon Valley banning Trump and taking down their competition is rather concerning for democracy and civil rights and freedoms and it's nothing to celebrate. Trump is almost a thing of the past. Now I see even liberals moving to platforms that were mostly populated by conservatives.
