#Tanzania is currently heavily improving its railway infrastructure, investing about $10bn. The goal is to connect key cities in the country with the neighbouring countries #Burundi, #Rwanda and the #DemocraticRepublicOfCongo. The first 460km of a total of 2,560km are open since August 2024, connecting #DarEsSalaam and #Dodoma. It is the first railway in the region powered by electricity.
