We have massive privacy issues in this country, including sales of sensitive personal data to whomever wants to buy it (including China!), but everyone is hellbent on banning tiktok?

Give me a break.

As many of you likely know, I’m immune compromised and chronically ill. If you’ve followed me on social media for a while you may not even recognize me anymore. I sure don’t recognize myself some days.

I got #Covid in May of 2022 and I have never recovered. I’m now an ambulatory wheelchair user and struggle daily. I can’t work. My quality of life is significantly compromised.

Many of us never recovered. We exist.

Please, wear a mask and stay home if you’re sick.

@InfiniteHench How did I miss this! Imagine if this was a lore video accessible in game somewhere. Would help folks so much!

Now I want a Kate Mulgrew version. :D

@Enthusiamy I hope you feel better soon and that the symptoms don't get too bad. <3

Give a person a program, frustrate them for a day.

Teach a person to program, frustrate them for a lifetime.

Awwww this floor-chat between Dylan Mulvaney and Drew Barrymore is so sweet! I want to sit on the floor and chat with Drew toooo! :D

I've told you a million times not to exaggerate.

@svetzal But the dev made a varchar(20) table field datatype. It was a nice number that they liked. They also copy pasted a regex validator from a web search result dated 2008.

Are you looking for a security oversight, some kind of policy adherence in the proof of concept they did at a hackathon that sales and product saw as FREE software to release to production? XD

C'mon all I want is these two ladies in an original 25th century Trek show. Give me Captain Annika "Seven" Hansen and Star Trek: Titan! #StarTrek #StarTrekPicard

A convenient way to play the original .hack games:

-Original physical game
-DVD reader
-PCSX2 emulator
-Xbox controller
-HDMI out to TV
-Stuffed Grunty to cuddle with

I'm playing "Infection" today. 🥰

Happy 20th Anniversary .hack! Oink! Here's some lovely music to help celebrate with your favourite grunty.

I know what game I'll be playing today! :D

You need Nintendo Account credit to buy from the eShops. For a quick workflow, digital eShop codes are available at Amazon which can be redeemed at Nintendo on the web once you're logged into your account.

The Nintendo DS and WiiU eShop stores are shutting down at the end of the month. If still enjoying your devices, be sure to take a look at games you wishlisted.

There are some nice sales! Capcom games are on sale at major discounts ($4 FTW!) along with a few other publishers. Great time to pick up titles like Resident Evil Revelations, Monster Hunter 3/4, Street Fighter II, Shantae, Mighty Switch Force etc.

@RikerGoogling guess: so you don't walk into the black walls when no program is running (like tape on glass)

OR

For the viewers at home to relate to the size of the room and be amazed that so little space can fit so much content and movement when running a program.

@riamaria THIS. Managers tried this in the years of FORTRAN through some of the 1980s. It was ridiculous then and it still is now.

The value that a software provides is what matters: what it enables, how it empowers, how it was architected for future adaptations, and maintainability.

It's not white space utilization, number of CRs or LFs, font size, dropping braces or not, ternary IFs, large vs small commits etc.

Software is craftsmanship, not a robotic conveyor belt to KPI.

Ariella boosted

I have zero respect for any engineering leadership that thinks lines of code and number of commits are acceptable metrics for a software engineer's performance
