This. Abled people experience the pandemic in very different ways compared to others who are less so. Different relationships with body, risk, access, and value assignment in society:

Oh boy. Ick. Star Trek: Lower Decks animated series trailer (requires USA IP address to view. I used a VPN):

Yes but in a pandemic, your infection does lead to that of others, young people. Your cavalier acceptance of death forces a risk of death onto youth that would much rather live, and not be your victim.

We are all so, so connected. Don’t let viral transmission be your last gift. 😔

“I have a different perspective,” she said. “I’m old, and if I die, I die. If it’s going to kill someone, let it happen to the older people. I’ve lived my life.”

@marissa@resistance.social We can begin by elevating the research we've already done and have. What science knows and what society knows are separated by an unnecessary dead-zone of no-signal 😋

@marissa@resistance.social I had to write to Statistics Canada recently to observe that their surveys with only M/F boxes have fewer data points about people (2), than they do selection boxes for types of housing (10+).

They replied that they were working on improving their biological diversity models, and I was left headshaking that they're only noticing life and its diversity now? How do you miss that for decades? LOL

That's a rhetorical question of course. :) I know the answer: constructs trumping reality.

@marissa@resistance.social What's also frustrating is that science isn't doing enough to explain and teach why non-binarism is real, and how diversity is real. I've collected links to research for years from any publication I can find, and the volume of articles is so low. There are too few SRY gene articles, too few about hormones in gestation and life, too few about intersexism and more.

I mean, nobody knows about XXY, XYY, X, androgen insensitivity, all of it. Hundreds of millions of people, invisible.

@marissa@resistance.social Pretty much! It's infuriating.

Rowling, stop talking. You're a disaster.

Jessica R. Durling on Facebook describes it nicely:

"I've ignored porn tweeted at children"

You actively ignored what? But being called out on your transphobia is when you stop ignoring discourse?

This is straight up a vile admission- even from a conversion therapy supporter.

Honestly, if anyone supports this person they are beyond immoral.

Trans people are being murdered at the highest rate since records began, with four innocent lives taken in the space of a week.

PS: Any counts we can measure are always conservative because of misgendering in police reports, families erasing kids' identities postmortem in obituaries, police not reporting nor investigating anyway, other countries' media that don't bother to report, and more. 😩

@marissa@resistance.social Yes! Same! 😥
