Are there any Mastodon instances that are user-owned? I wouldn't mind pitching in a dollar a month along with several thousand other people to create a Mastodon server with collective governance.
Forkiverse is a cool experiment, but ultimately my content and account is still anchored to the whims just a few guys (albeit middle class guys, an improvement over billionaires)
